We can likely help you wherever you are in the world, but certain services are restricted by your location and the location of our therapists. If you require a medical diagnosis, you must be located in one of the USA states in which we hold licenses, i.e. California, Texas and Nevada. While we have Japan-licensed therapists, they are unable to provide medical diagnoses. Similarly, if you wish to use insurance benefits, there will be restrictions which must be considered. Please contact us with your circumstances to determine if we can meet your specific needs.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Yes, we accept most Japanese overseas travel & accident insurance policies on a cashless basis. That means we will bill the Japanese insurance company for your services. We do not ask you to pay first. If your OTAI policy does not pay, then we will bill you. Some OTAI will issue a precertification of benefits while others will require the bill and medical notes before making a determination for payment. Please contact us for more information about OTAI claims and benefits.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No, we do not participate in any insurance networks. We are considered an out-of-network provider. We can provide a superbill (i.e. a receipt with information that is needed by your insurance company) if you\u2019d like to file a claim for potential reimbursement, which depends on your insurance policy\u2019s out-of-network benefits. Insurance is overly complex and confusing, so please contact us for more information about insurance benefits or to check your insurance benefits.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

You don’t need to do anything to prepare for your in-person appointment. Just allow yourself enough time to drive to our office without rushing. There is plenty of free parking outside the South Pasadena office. If your appointment is remote using videoconferencing or phone, we recommend you get comfortable in a private space, if possible.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

No, we do not provide free consultations. In order to be seen by our counselors, we require you to complete our new client forms, including an informed consent form which explains important information about counseling, e.g. limits to confidentiality and mandated reporting. <\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tCan I bring my child to my session?<\/span><\/div>

Unless the session is for or involves your child, we ask that you find alternative care for your child rather than bringing them to your session. It can be distracting to the session and it may be inappropriate or harmful for your child to listen to the topics discussed during the session. <\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tDo you prescribe medication?<\/span><\/div>

We do not prescribe medication, but we collaborate with physicians and mental health nurse practitioners who can prescribe medication. Some of them are available via remote telehealth sessions, so you can be seen from your home to receive a prescription. Please contact us to determine if this is possible given your location and specific needs.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

A superbill is an receipt that can be used to file a claim for potential insurance reimbursement. Upon your request, we will provide a receipt\/superbill that has the provider information, the dates and service fees, a CPT code that tells your insurance company what type of services you received, and a diagnosis code that tells your insurance company what you received services for. In order to provide a superbill, we need to provide a billable medical diagnosis for the treatment.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

If you\u2019re unable to make it to a session, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice, you will be charged for the full cost of the session.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

To achieve the best therapeutic results, it is important to find a therapist with whom you can create a strong connection and bond.
