Some tests and assessments are administered, without an additional fee, during the course of treatment to assess a client’s condition at various points in their treatment. These include Mental Status, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory, Cross-cutting Symptoms Measure, Keirsey Temperament, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following tests are also available, for an additional fee, while receiving treatment from a counselor.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

T.O.V.A. (for ADHD)<\/h3><\/div>

The Test of Variables of Attention (TOVA) is used as an aid in the assessment of attention deficits, including attention-deficit\/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), in children and adults. It measures a patient\u2019s attention and ability to control. It calculates response time and speed, commission, and omission. These factors allow qualified clinicians to evaluate the patient’s impulsivity, consistency, focus, vigilance, and attention.

Who can the TOVA test be used for?<\/strong>
TOVA testing can be used for ages 4 and up.

What does the TOVA test entail?<\/strong>
The TOVA test is administered in two parts, visual and audio, each about 22 minutes, that looks a lot like a boring video game. Patients will respond to stimuli using a button.

How Reliable is the TOVA test?<\/strong>
The TOVA has been shown to accurately identify 87% of individuals without ADHD, 84% of non-hyperactive ADHD, and 90% of the hyperactive ADHD, but should never be used solely as a diagnostic tool for those testing for attention deficit disorders or with a traumatic brain injury.

MMPI<\/h3><\/div>

The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is a clinical assessment tool that assesses personality traits and symptom validity, aiming to identify mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, or schizophrenia – as a first step toward a treatment plan. The clinical and validity scales of the MMPI allow mental health professionals to obtain a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s personality, psychopathology, and response patterns, which aids in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions.

Who can the MMPI be used for?<\/strong>
The MMPI-A was created and validated against adolescents from age 14-18. The MMPI-2 and other versions is intended for patients 18 and older.

What does the MMPI test entail?<\/strong>
The MMPI-2 contains 567 test items and takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. The MMPI-2-RF contains 338 questions and takes around 35 to 50 minutes to finish. The MMPI-3 contains 335 self-report items and takes 25 to 35 minutes to administer by computer and 35 to 40 minutes to administer by paper and pencil.

How Reliable is the MMPI?<\/strong>
The MMPI tests use validity scales of varying sorts to help assess the accuracy of each individual’s answers. Since these tests can be used for circumstances like employment screenings and custody hearings, test takers may not be completely honest in their answers. Validity scales can show how accurate the test is, as well as to what degree answers may have been distorted. The MMPI is considered reliable; however, it is just one tool of many to diagnose mental health conditions. Mental health professionals don’t rely on the results alone when making a diagnosis.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
